A big part of our CARE Walk the last few years has been our pink ribbon cookie sales. Laura's Cookies, sold exclusively at Dorothy Lane Market, donates more than 2,500 cookies each year for us to decorate and sell. Our volunteers frost the cookies, bag them, and sell them at various locations around Dayton.  We start selling the cookies in April, and they are a nice reminder around town that CARE Walk is coming soon!

About Us

The 5K Breast Cancer CARE Walk is organized by a team of volunteers and held the second Saturday of May each year. This is a community walk supported by the City of Oakwood, Oakwood Schools, local businesses, and various service organizations. One-hundred percent of the monies raised at our 5K CARE Walks stays in the Dayton area to help the underserved and uninsured.  CARE Walk is a Fund of The Dayton Foundation.

CARE Walk is held once each year, but year round CARE Walk is very active in the breast care health community in the Dayton area. We are a part of Fighting Against Breast Cancer, which is a coalition of breast health providers/supporters in the Miami Valley.

Over the years, CARE Walk monies have supported many local organizations, including Breast Wishes, Living with Lymphedema, Noble Circle, The Pink Ribbon Girls, Maple Tree Cancer Alliance, The Norma J. Ross Foundation, and the Breast Cancer Awareness Video Contest (available to all high school students in the Miami Valley).
